Get your point across
Key to a successful presentation is helping your audience grasp the message that you are trying to convey. It's important that the audience be able to recall your main points, otherwise you've accomplished little more than wasted your time and the time of your audience. Keep your main points to a minimum, outline and present the main points in summary. Then expand on the main points with facts and wrap-up by closing with a crescendo or 'stand out' idea that makes people think.
Consistency with your corporate identity
Try to work from established templates that are in keeping with your company's corporate identity guidelines. It's important that you present a clear, distinctive appearance to reinforce your brand. But keep logos and stylized layouts to a minimum. These can distract from key points you want to get across.
Know your audience
Above all, know your audience. Prepare in advance by understanding who is going to be present and what they expect to walk away with from your time together. For international audiences it's critical that you understand cultural differences and have a well prepared accompaniments in their native language. And be prepared to deviate as needed to accommodate last minute guests who may have questions that go beyond what you planned to speak about. It's important to ensure that you address your points, but more important to address the needs of your audience and to achieve mutual understanding on the topic.
